About Cheryl

I am an MPhil student in Communication in the Chinese Unversity of Hong Kong. My research interest lies in the dynamic of civic participation and new media, with a particular focus on social movement and political context in East Asia. I am also interested in disinformation, media literacy and Asian culture (especially Japanese).

I obtained my BSc in Journalism and Communication also in CUHK. I have worked on several research projects concerning the Hong Kong protest, China news and Freedom of press. For more details, please read my full academic CV as below (updated Dec 26, 2020).

Beyond academic research, I also like poems, calligraphy, indie music and gym workout. I am also a big fan of Japanese anime and movies.
